To 8 parts of the strongest vinegar add 4 ounces of the best verdigris (acetate of copper) pounded very fine, add ½ ounce of sap green and ½ ounce of indigo. If you use distilled vinegar or acetic acid the color will be improved. You can make the color more or less intensely green by using the solution strong or diluted with vinegar.
