A home occupation which may be advantageously followed on many a long winter evening is the following: Paint, with a very fine camel's hair pencil, nitro-muriate of gold over a design drawn on the glass. Hold this painted glass over a bottle in which hydrogen is being generated. In a short time the design will shine with considerable brilliancy, and will not tarnish upon exposure to the air.
