Use the same prescription as for wood. First, a hot and strong solution of extract of logwood; let it dry, then brush it off, and use a weak solution of bichromate of potash; let it dry again; when grayish spots appear, brush and rub the ratan, and if not satisfactory repeat the operation. The color obtained is "fast."
