- Reply of question 99, page 119, contains several formulæ for inks, to which only a little more gum-arabic and sugar have to be added to make them into good copying-inks. A very small amount of glycerine also improves the copying quality. If the ink gums the pen, it is a proof that it has become too thick by evaporation, and requires simply to be diluted with water.
