Painting on Zinc.

Manufacturer and builder 12, 1874

Puscher, of Neuremberg, Germany, has invented some simple methods adapted for applying all kinds of painting to zinc. It consists simply in the application of acetate of lead. When zinc is painted with a mixture of this salt and an iron oxid paint, it gives a very good red-brown. By the addition of other colored bases, lighter or darker shades can be produced, and the zinc even ornamented in the moldings, so as to look like stone. We remind the reader that with a solution of chlorid of copper letters and figures can be produced on zinc; a few minutes after the application of the chlorid it must be washed off and dried.
