A correspondent says: "I write these lines with ink made of elderberries. My more of making it is as follows: one-hal gallon of juice of elderberries, as described in your paper; 1 ounce copperas, 2 drams alum, 20 drops creosote dissolved in small quantity of alcohol. The ink kept the violet color several years, now it has a brownish appearance. It makes a fair copy.
