Painting with Aniline Colors.

Scientific American, New Series 8, 22.2.1862

- Professor Scely, in the last number of the American Journal of Photography, says - " The aniline colors may be used for painting albumen photographs. These colors are all soluble in alcohol and being thickened with the proper spirit varnish are especially suitable for painting transparencies on glass for the magic lantern and other purposes. These are no colors more dazzlingly bright than the aniline dyes, and they are as permanent as any others of similar tint."
