(1102) Yellow Hair Dye.

Manufacturer and Builder ?, 1874

We find the stuff to be nothing more than what we have already described on page 130 of our May number for 1869 — a powerful bleaching agent which turns the hair a light color, namely, per-oxid of hydrogen. It is however largely diluted with water, for which reason it keeps better than the pure article, while a small amount of nitric acid aids in the property of its keeping along time. It contains only about six times its volume of extra oxygen, or, by weight, less than one per cent.
